30 days Induction Training of Faculty in Universities/Colleges/ Institutes

MHRD-proposed Induction Training for freshly inducted at the UGC-HRDC, GU

The UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Gauhati University has been selected as one of the 10 HRDCs in the country out of 66 HRDCs (formerly Academic Staff College) to run Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India proposed induction training course for freshly inducted faculty members into Universities/Colleges/Institutes in India.

Recently the Group of Secretaries (GoS) on Education and Social Development has recommended Induction Training of freshly inducted faculty in Universities/Colleges/Institutes in the country so as to improve their quality. In the initial stage 30 Centres under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) and 10 Human Resource Development Centres (HRDCs) have been identified for starting the training programme at the earliest possible. The induction Programme for training Faculty & Academic Staff in Central and State Universities, Centrally funded Technical Institutions, and Degree & PG Degree Colleges will familiarize them in their roles as freshly inducted teachers. It will orient them on various generic aspects of teaching learning, instructional methodologies, assessment and evaluation techniques, ICT enabled teaching learning, and equip them with knowledge of university rules and regulations, basics of governance and administration. 

The UGC-HRDC, Gauhati University which was ranked 8th in the country (by NAAC) has been working for conducting the courses as per request of the MHRD, Government of India. These courses (one month duration each) for three batches (30-40 members in each group) will be held in three rounds as follows:


First Round from 15 November, 2017 to 14 December, 2017 (30 days),

Second Round: In March-April, 2018 (30 days)

Third Round: may June, 2018 (30 Days)
