Building/Smart Class rooms
The UGC – Human Resource Development Centre, Gauhati University is housed in its own building within the Gauhati University Campus. It has two A/C classrooms each capable of seating 50 participants at a time. Both the classrooms are equipped with the full range of audio – visual tools that find use in teaching and e-learning also class rooms are Wi-fi network enable, i.e. easily access LAN and surfing internet. Also faciliate with Vyas Channel of CEC through internet & DTH HD TV.
There is also an air–conditioned computer lab with 25 PCs in a networked environment ( both LAN and Wi-fi) and the connectivity provided by ERNET allows access to e-journals on the UGC - INFLIBNET. The Human Resource Development Centre also has software like Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash and Pinnacle Studio 9 (which allows teachers to try their hand in creating e-learning material), MATLAB, SPSS, MOOCK Moodle.
Satellite Interactive Terminal
The Human Resource Development Centre , Gauhati University is also a part of UGC’s EDUSAT network and is equipped with a Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT) which gives it two-way connectivity with the Consortium of Educational Communication (CEC) in New Delhi and other SIT centres in the network. Apart from functioning as a classroom end, the facility also gives this Human Resource Development Centre the capability of being a teaching end.
The Human Resource Development Centre Library has 2600 volumes on different subjects. The collection includes the Encyclopedia Britannica, McGraw Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, Encyclopedia of Indian Literature, Encyclopedia of Guidance and Counselling, Encyclopedia of Personal Relationships, International Encyclopedia of Curriculum, International Encyclopedia of Educational Evaluation and International Encyclopedia of Educational Technology and e-book reader facility for reading online journal or e-book reading though internet (HRDC-GU has own subscription of e-books, so that the participants can access these e-books from ICT lab).
The Human Resource Development Centre has constructed its own Wi-fi enabled Guest House with fund received from UGC under its XIth Plan grant. The Guest House was opened for accommodation in July 2010 and it can accommodate 34 participants. The Guest House facility has also been made open to other programmes in the University depending on availability.
The Human Resource Development Centre has has Wi-fi enabled A/C Multi-purpose hall (conference hall) with audio-visual system.
